Saw this at the huntington gardens - blue puya (puya berteroniana) native to chile . is a terrestrial bromeliad related to the pineapple . bees & birds love it . I have seen one of these in a botanical gardens and yes it IS this blue.
Queen's Tears - the color is unbelievable! It is a bromeliad, billbergia nutans known as a friendship plant (give its babies away). From Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay & Argentina. Makes a great house plant.
For a lesson on COOL plants? Gunnera tinctora leaf - "Chilean rhubarb" is a giant, clump-forming herbaceous perennial that can grow over feet tall. The leaves can grow up to 8 feet across. I gotta try growing this again!
