South Indian cotton yarn market bearish; prices ease in Tiruppur
Cotton yarn prices have fallen by ₹2-3 per kg in Tiruppur due to sluggish demand from the weaving industry, whereas prices have remained stable in Mumbai. The market is particularly subdued during the Pitru Paksh period. Mills in Tiruppur are offering increased discounts to attract buyers. Gujarat's cotton market also experienced a decline in prices.

China’s imports of raw materials ease in June after steep rise in May
China’s imports of raw materials eased in June after sudden rise in May 2022. The imports of fibre, yarn and fabrics recorded similar trend in the previous two months. It is important to note that the Chinese cotton crop got ready for picking in June. Local industry might have increased import in May but reduced before arrival of local crop.
