A stunning British colonial William IV mahogany récamier, with (when facing) a left-hand raised sweeping upholstered arm and right-hand scrolled foot end. The moulded back frame sweeps down and terminates at the base of the comfortably stuff-over seat. The sweep, roll of arm and scrolled foot end are decorated with stylized carvings of foliage motifs along its frame. A very beautiful and elegant piece from the mid 19th century.
