Selling wine by the no-licence boundary
Corban Depot. In 1908 laws were passed banning the sale of alcohol in electorates that voted for prohibition – these became no-licence areas. Corbans winery was located just inside the boundary of a no-licence area (marked by the railway line). The family built a small depot across the railway track from their wine cellar in 1914 and sold wine legally from it.

Pak'n Save Lincoln. 2015. Dan and Cliff Averill returned from WW1 to the farm on this site. Together with younger brother Harold they became winemakers here. The vineyard was later taken over by Penfolds during the 1980s. Universal Drive was extended to Lincoln Rd after Penfolds sold up. Mitre 10 is also built on the Penfold land.
