Today's project was this vintage inspired apron. It's made from an old skirt. The skirt was a simple design made up of two pieces and a gathered waistline, so I simply opened up the sideseams and cut the waistband so I had half a skirt. I then prettied up the edges and used the other half of the skirt to make the top and the pleated pocket (it's barely visible in this pic). Finally I added some blue ribbon and ta-daaa!
Some wall art my sister and I made for her living room a few years ago Super simple and gives the room a nice warm glow It's made from a simple Ikea mirror (frame included) that we just glued some "gold-leaf" onto. Quite proud of this one And here's a tiny tip if you want to make one; don't work on it outside on a windy day...
Not really homemade, just altered. My mother had this when she was pregnant with me, but I'm not pregnant in the 80's and really wanted it to work( it's suuuper soft and comfy!). I took about 15-20 cm off the length and made the belt. Originally it was just a straight, baggy and quite unflattering dress, but I fell in love with the neckline (a different little twist on a simple button up shirt collar) and had to make it wearable :)
So, I'm working on a hoodie for myself these days and today (ahem...tonight) everything kept going wrong, the sewing machine was acting up and I kept making all kinds of dumb mistakes (like sewing the cuff on the outside of the sleeve etc) so I decided to take a little break and do something simple instead. This is the result! A summer hat for my little niece :) It's made of some of those little fabric pieces you end up with when you are really bad at planning and placing your pattern :)
And here is a simpler "bathrobe" I made today. (also made from an old bedspread) It's basically just a long bath towel with an elastic band sewn into the top. Perfect for going back and forth between the sauna and the cabin 😊
