La dernière flèche (Pony Soldier) - Frank Borzage, 1952
Pour son premier film parlant, Frank Borzage offre de nouveau le premier rôle à son acteur fétiche Charles Farrell, celui de Liliom, un forain poussé à se suicider après avoir participé à une rapine et qui va devoir passer seize années au purgatoire avant de pouvoir revenir sur Terre le temps de demander pardon aux personnes quil a blessées. Avec ce film, Borzage passe brillamment la transition du cinéma parlant. Il parvient à utiliser les enseignements acquis pendant ses longues années…
