The controversial 115 metre-high sculpture by artist Anish Kapoor and structural engineer Cecil Balmond for the London 2012 Olympic Park is now complete.

"Paleys upon Pilers", palace on pillars - latticed timber hut on stilts -the wooden folly was inspired by the dream-like temples described in two poems written by historic Aldgate resident Geoffrey Chaucer -  it now marks the direct route from the City of London to the Olympic Park - designed by Hackney architects Studio Weave

La dernière flèche (Pony Soldier) - Frank Borzage, 1952

Pour son premier film parlant, Frank Borzage offre de nouveau le premier rôle à son acteur fétiche Charles Farrell, celui de Liliom, un forain poussé à se suicider après avoir participé à une rapine et qui va devoir passer seize années au purgatoire avant de pouvoir revenir sur Terre le temps de demander pardon aux personnes qu’il a blessées. Avec ce film, Borzage passe brillamment la transition du cinéma parlant. Il parvient à utiliser les enseignements acquis pendant ses longues années…
