Flying Saucer Cake and Matching Cupcakes
This cake has been a feat of engineering. To get the top tier to stand on the top took a while and in the end I came up with the idea of banking up the rods to add extra support. The cake is for a young man named Oliver who is the grandson of a lady named Hilary who keeps a horse at our livery yard. When ever we go away tomy mum's caravan Hilary steps in to let my chickens and ducks out for me, and I wanted to make sure that the cake was special.

My boy's birthday cake! He chose the design from a Debbie Brown book, and I made a couple of changes. The top tier was banana cake, layered with milk chocolate ganache, and the bottom tier was caramel mud layered with white chocolate ganache (Jack's flavour choices!) I can't take credit for the board design - it was Jack's clever idea to make it look like the moon! I'm getting some good use out of my airbrush! The 'craters' on the board were airbrushed, along with the top tier.
