The Bombonnière Egg, This exquisitely crafted egg is less than two inches long and could have been used as a container for candies. The shell of the egg is silver gilt and enamelled in translucent white. Swags of green gold laurel leaves criss-crossed in red gold divide the egg into separate rounded panels. Rubies are set into the swags and into the lower panels.
A delicate white leaf pattern meticulously carved into the shell creates a lace effect on this stunning egg. Three oval cameo panels grace the sides of the egg, each of which features an ivory-colored cameo against a rose pink background. White swirls and golden beading frame each cameo. Sparkling Swarovski crystals decorate the lace, the cameo and the golden braiding that trims the egg.
