December 26, 1862 -38 Dakota Warriors were hung in the U.S.A. becoming the largest mass execution still remaining today. The hanging happened in Mankato, Minnesota. Abraham Lincoln signed the papers to have 40 men hung because of the Dakota Uprising. The U.S. did not follow through with their agreement on The Treaty of 1851.
Here's the difference. This poplar pin incorrectly equates media coverage to justice. Lion's killers were found quickly and 3 people were arrested, brought to court and convicted of murder. A 4th person was convicted of obstruction of justice. In the Martin case the assailant was known from the very beginning but no charges were brought until the media started covering the story.
