Ivy- Plant Nymph Mask

KISSIAE Ivy Beautiful Plant Nymph Masquerade Mask | Etsy

In Greek mythology, a nymph is regarded as divine spirits who animate nature. They are beautiful, young maidens who love to dance and sing. KISSIAE - the watcher over IVY plants is a beautiful Forest Nymph mask that adds a sense of mystery and intrigue while looking elegant and flirty. Larger style Harlequin mask is painted in apple green and antiqued with avocado. Dark green ivy leaves, twisted twigs and gold wire are intertwined to make her headpiece, where a delicate orange glitter and…

This ensemble illustrates fashionable formal dress for men in the 1770s. The fine silk velvet and embroidered waistcoat indicate that it was probably worn during the evening, at the theatre, opera or the always convivial Assembly Rooms located in the more fashionable towns and cities. By the 1770s the waistcoat has shortened further and ends at the top of the thigh. The skirts continue to diminish in volume and move further to the back. The sleeves and cuffs are getting narrower. Compared to…

Coat | V&A Search the Collections

A mans coat and breeches, 1770s English; Maroon silk velvet, English, 1770s. Museum Number 858&A-1864.

An example of a mens dress coat with matching breeches and vest. The coat and the breeches are made of the same material, this looks to be velvet and the vest is an embroidered fabric in a class rococo style print of pale colors and often a floral print. Gold lace edge the jacket front, sleeves, and pockets with covered buttons down the front and at the hem of the breeches. The only thing missing to complete this outfit would be a jabot at the neck.

Suit | Italian | The Met

This suit is the epitome of mid-18th century men's wear with its curved jacket front, fitted breeches, narrow sleeves and decorative mid-thigh length waistcoat. Waistcoats of the time were a vehicle for imagination and, in this case, add an ornate aspect to an otherwise conservative ensemble

This mask is made from leather which is cut and sculpted by hand, then hardened to keep its unique shape and finally painted.
