I took this series of 8 pictures of the Indonesian neighbouring volcanoes ‘Tangkuban Parahu’ and ‘Kawah Putih’. 'Kawah Putih', the white crater, last erupted in 1600. Since then, sulfur springs have formed an acid lake on its soil, changing its color from bluish to whitish to green and brown, depending on the level of sulfur concentration, temperature and level of oxidation. Inside the four craters of ‘Tangkuban Parahu’ also hot water gushes and toxic carbon dioxide and sulfur gases evaporate.
