Letter walk: walk around the neighborhood looking for letters on signs, and then fold down tab on the plate.
Putting letters or numbers in order... Cheap and brilliant! Great for skip counting, fractions, putting different three-digit numbers in order........, all great ways to practice 2nd grade CCSS
lower case letters written on clothespins, match to upper case cards. -great for fine motor skills too
Name Puzzles. Do each kid's name in a different color and keep 5 or 6 names in an envelope. (This would be good for kids learning the names of the other kids in their reading group). Can also add a picture to it.
