Double brokering is the illegal act of a broker or carrier transferring a load to another trucking company without notifying the shipper. In a legitimate shipper-broker agreement, the broker assigns loads to carriers, and those carriers pick up and deliver the loads according to the terms of a broker-carrier agreement. But don't expect this from small trucking companies in and around Brampton.

Did you know that FMCSA maintains a carrier operations “snapshot” in its SAFER program, an accessible electronic record of a company's identification, size, commodity information, and safety record, including the safety rating (if any), a roadside out-of-service inspection summary, and crash information.

Truckers all across Canada are fighting to claim millions in unpaid wages that have been withheld from them by various employers in recent years while calling on the federal government to do more to help fight against carriers that operate and manage to legally abuse the system. As there is no proper knowledge and guidance available to new or seasoned drivers. The common impression is that authorities tend to turn a blind eye and often look the other way.

More and more are looking towards the Canadian federal government to regulate the training of semi-trailer truck drivers after the recent rise in accidents. As our provincial governments have repeatedly failed to keep our roads safe. "People are afraid to drive on our highways," the majority of Canadians agree on this. How long are we supposed to debate this? Answer: For years, this has fallen on deaf years. Now you all do the math. Are authorities actually seriously doing something about it?"

Trans-Canada Highway is a continuous (mostly) single lane highway that allows vehicle travel across Canada. The highway runs through each of Canada’s 10 provinces. At 7,821 km, it is among the longest highways all around the world (perhaps the only single lane highway in each direction of this importance) till date. Just big cities inhabitants in the beginning used roads otherwise road use remained relatively rare in Canada until the 20th century.

According to truck news .com - Out-of-town drivers trying to find parking spots at the handful of available places in Ontario’s trucking heartland are complaining that they are being squeezed out by illegally parked trucks, abandoned vehicles and dropped trailers. #canadiansafetytrainers

Aimed at identifying locations where parking is lacking and how this shortage affects the work of semi tractor trailer drivers all across Canada, has come to the conclusion that approx 60.3 percent of drivers have trouble finding parking en route while another 48 percent couldn’t find a place to stop near their final destination. Canadian authorities have turned a blind eye towards this issue and have never directly addressed this issue in the 25 years I have been associated with this industry.

What is an underride guard for a truck? Rear underride guards are steel bars that hang from the backs of large trucks to prevent a passenger vehicle from moving underneath in a rear crash. Crashes with underride typically involve severe damage to the occupant compartment of the smaller vehicle, often with deadly results.
