If you haven't heard of it yet, it's series of lookbooks that feature fiber and fabric making communities around the country. Maine is going to be the focus of Issue #2. I am so thrilled to be a part, and happy to have the opportunity to contribute a design with one of my most favorite yarns, Quince Owl. This sweater is knit in the traditional Icelandic Lopapeysa style. The body and sleeves are worked in the round from the bottom up and are then joined together to form a yoke i.e. the circular patterned area around the shoulders. The body is waisted and short rows are used at the neck to provide a comfortable fit. Léttlopi is a fantastic yarn to work with. It’s exceptionally warm and comes in a wide range of beautiful colours.
