Great border idea. I wonder how it would look with jelly roll fabrics alternating lights and darks.

The ribbon border is delightful. It is simple, elegant and quite consistent with Visual straight lines at spacing and feathers. The narrow borders are not yet ditched, nor are the logs.in due time.

Made by Celia Frazier. This pattern is a take on a tutorial pattern that Jenny of MSQC did with the BasiX block ruler. She did not sash each of her blocks like I did. I did a post and sash to enlarge the quilt. All blocks finished out at 9.5" square unfinished (without sashing, which I made 2" wide unfinished). It looks just as nice without the sashing. So the pattern is in that tutorial. I made the whole thing scrappy. I used all Blue Barn Prints & Batik Jelly Rolls (1 each)

Rainbow Transparency Skinny Quilt. Techniques used: machine piecing; illusion of transparency. Machine pieced and quilted. Finished size: 14.25″ by 45″. The selection of the fabrics create the illusion of transparency, but in actuality the fabrics are all pieced – there is no actual overlapping of fabrics. I used a solid medium gray for the background, and a mottled gray-charcoal-black for the binding. The background was quilted with free-motion organic, mostly straight lines.
